Newsletter
| The Spanner is the
monthly newsletter of the Bluewater British Car Club. It is published to
keep members up to date on upcoming Club activities, to report on past Club
events, to provide a calendar of upcoming regional British Car events, articles
of general interest, and to
offer tips for care and maintenance of our British Cars. Photographs and
articles from members about their cars and adventures are always welcomed. The Spanner is available in full colour at the beginning of each month for downloading. You do require a copy of Adobe Reader, which can be obtained free by clicking on the Adobe Reader button. Please note that the newsletter file may be slow to download if you are on "dial-up". Tips for Viewing and Downloading the Newsletter There are different ways that your computer treats the Adobe Reader version of the newsletter found on the Club’s website when you click on the link to the present newsletter or to a past one. For some when you click on the link your web browser (Explorer, Netscape, Mozilla, etc) automatically will launch Adobe Reader and start downloading and opening the newsletter so that you can view it straight away. But what if you want to save the newsletter to your computer? For others clicking on the link prompts you to tell the computer where you want to save the newsletter. But what if you just want to view newsletter and not save it? There is another way to save and view the newsletter you may be unaware of. Place your cursor over the link to the newsletter you want and click the right mouse button. Up pops a small window with a list of things to choose from:
Of course if you have opened the newsletter in your web browser you can still download it to your computer using the save button that is part of the Adobe or your web browser. There are other options but these are the important ones. If you are still having problems please email me (mowog73@sympatico.ca) or give me a call. I’m not a rocket surgeon when it comes to computers but I may be able to help.
