St. John-in-the-Wilderness Anglican Church Presents the

BLUEWATER TRIATHLON and  DUATHLON - Saturday, July 24, 2010

THANKS to all the athletes for participating, the spectators for making it even more fun, and all the volunteers who helped make the 2006 event happen - another grand time was had by all!

We had a cool north breeze on Saturday, giving us nice cool tempertures for biking and running; it brought large waves as well so we all did the Duathlon.

The sun came out nicely for lunch and awards.  Once again, we received a number of compliments to the church ladies for the sweets they cooked for adult athletes (church ladies make great sweets!)

The sun was out with a nice breeze and flat water for the kids event on Sunday - we had 92 children swim, bike, run and enjoy hotdogs and cookies afterwards. It was a lot of fun in the park.

The bag pipe band starting the adult event has become a tradition we all look forward to and are inspired by....thanks to this band.  Thanks also to the disc jockey, Bruce Falconer,  for keeping us all happy and motivated with a great selection of tunes.

The pre-race pasta dinner was, as always a lively social gathering with good food, lots of stories and families, and a time when some folks get aquainted or reaquainted.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO  HAVING FUN AND KEEPING FIT AT THE 2007 EVENT.
