Guestbook

Thank you for visiting our pages. We would love it if you would Add to this guestbook we are keeping!
How about a page on famous people from Forest? Bill Lochead was a good hockey player in his day, and now Bonnie Huctwith Burnard is making a name for herself as a writer. We should be proud of having these people as part of our hometown.

Does anyone remember Hillcrest Heights, Galimere and Hillsboro in the early 50's and 60's? Remember the bakery when Marie Prout worked there? Her Dad Jack Prout was the lumber man. Anyone remember the Hubbard Farm and the characters, Ed, Tom and Paddy Hubbard? Our gang included Phil and Margie Sloan, Terry Henderson, John and Michael Zielke, Tom Walker, Bobby Fuller, etc. Forest was the best place to grow up.

I am searching for information for a neighbour and friend who has an uncle that lived in Forest with a farmer named Sparling from 1912 - 1915. He was British and his name was Richard Read Bentley or 'Dick'. He was only about 14 years old when he came to Forest in 1912. Perhaps a member of the Sparling family would like to contact me with any information. My neighbour is writing a book about Mr Bentley who was a explorer in his day and once flew a single engine plane from England to South Africa. He passed away in the early 1990's.

Hi Everyone. I lived in Forest for roughly nine years as a child (1971-1978). I attended St. John Fisher school. I too miss the bakery (especially the apple fritters). If anyone remembers me drop me a line. It would be great to chat with some old schoolmates. I think it would be great to have a St. John Fisher school reunion as well. Think about it and let me know.

It is a shame to see such terrible sportsmanship. Maybe YOU should be pulled from the team until you learn how to act. Don't use this message board for unkind messages.

I am shocked and disappointed that someone from the town of Dorchester would leave a message dissing the Forest Hockey teams. The guest book is not meant for that sort of tone. In the future if you have comments about Forest and they are not pleasant, keep them to yourself.

I too was looking for the website for the Garden Club. This site is very interesting - glad to see that you are promoting Forest so well. I went to FDHS in the late 50's and early 60's. I was Wendy Russell then. Did you know there is a Forest in Mississippi? I was checking out their website too. They have a Forest Garden Club. You should twin with them.

I am looking for a man that I had a brief conversation with at the Forest Golf & Country Club on March 16, 2000. He was there with his mother, sister, nephews and niece enjoying the swimming facilities at the hotel. Unfortunately, I only had the opportunity to speak with him briefly. If you were him (or know who he was), please respond to this message to the email address indicated.

I have an old phot of a Mrs. Louheed from Arkona, Ont. She was apparently a good friend of my GGrandmother. The phot was taken in Forest, ON. If there is a descendant interested in the old photo I'd be happy to share it with you. If anyone local could check this out and pass the word along it would be appreciated. The photo can be viewed at the attached URL.

I am wondering if any one in Forest would recall anyone by the name of Victor Stanley Garlisch. The spelling may have been Garlish. He married Alice Jane Coultis daughter of Harvey Coultis and Helen (Nee) Wright on Feb. 26, 1921. They were married at St. James Manse by the Rev. H.D. Cameron. Victor and Alice had a small son who passed away in 1924 aged 2 years and 4 months. He apparently was buried at the Beechwood Cemetary, unfortunately we do not have the childs name. If any one knows about this Family please contact me at ruth@monisys.ca Thankyou Ruth
