The first public school on the present property was built in 1870. This two storey frame structure burned in 1893. In 1894 a white brick school with two stories and six rooms was built. In 1951 kindergarten classes were started. Further renovations took place in 1957, 1964, 1967 and 1990 until the present one floor building was completed including a gymnasium, library, office area and portapak classrooms.
